Responsible for managing the preparation, production, and reproduction of company publications. Plans, schedules, assigns, and reviews work. Sets and maintains publication standards. Manages the printing and binding of manuals, brochures, forms, stationery, promotional literature, etc. Coordinates the development of printing capabilities internally and with outside vendors. May be responsible for graphic layout and preparation of camera-ready art. Assists with scheduling and handling production requests for reproduction copy and artwork from other departments. Reviews material equipment and manpower requirements, prepares cost analyses for new programs, and administers publications budget. Also manages literature control.

**Responsibilities**
- Hire, manage, and support a world-class team of Technical Writers.
- Promote a results-focused approach and work-life balance by helping to balance assignments across the team when workloads are uneven, manage conflicting priorities, and prevent over-resourcing.
- Make sure Technical Writers effectively prioritize high-priority feature release work with other content, experience, and process improvements.
- Help Technical Writers refine their writing skills by spot-checking content and providing editorial feedback.
- Encourage efficient collaboration by defining processes that align with the rest of the product teams, are consistent and efficient, and use JIRA capabilities to power process flows and metrics.
- Create practices that encourage keeping documentation up to date and easily discoverable.
- Promote and optimize the experience for documentation contributions from the Aruba team and the wider HPE community.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in creating and managing online documentation is a hard requirement for this role.
- Previous experience as a technical writer for at least 8-10 years is a hard requirement for this role.
- Proven experience in managing, mentoring, and training teams of Technical Writers.
- Experience working on production-level documentation.
- Self-motivated and robust organizational skills.
- Substantial written and spoken communication skills.
- Experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across a company, and/or open-source communities.
- Share the HPE values and work in accordance with those values.
