Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting:
As a Senior Accountant in the Core Accounting group at WFS, you will play a unique and integral role in transforming accounting processes by optimizing and standardizing end to end processes with the use of information technology across our various segments (Aviation, Marine, Land and Corporate). We are seeking an accounting professional who consistently exceeds expectations, remains curious and seeks to improve their processes in a collaborative environment.

Professionals working in this area perform operational and technical accounting activities, support of closing activities and work on process optimization as well as maintenance of WFS’ book of records.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the monthly general ledger closing processes and procedures.
- Act as a key resource for technical accounting guidance and collaborates with various stakeholders such as the technical accounting group on complex accounting issues and transactions.
- Research technical accounting questions and provide prompt assistance/responses to core accounting team members.
- Ensure that key Accounting SOX controls are documented and working as intended including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry support, and variance fluctuation explanations.
- Analyze and review financial information for accuracy.
- Prepare schedules for Sub-ledger and G/L accounting and reconciliations for below GP line items.
- Promotes a one team culture and collaborates with other functions to deliver value through increased efficiency and better information.
- It is expected that this position will report issues, make recommendations for resolution or take appropriate initiative/actions.
- Provide audit support to Internal and External Auditors
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet short deadlines.
- Support all company policies, goals, and objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.

Leadership Experience:

- No supervisory responsibility, but expected to provide leadership ability with regards to ownership of the general ledger accounts assigned and special projects assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

- 3+ years of accounting experience in large companies
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

- CPA (or equivalent)
- Big 4 public accounting experience with Fortune 500 clients
- Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of Oracle
- Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience with documenting accounting conclusions related support
- Understanding and use of automation tools (e.g. Alteryx, UiPath, Tableau, etc.) a plus.

Critical Skills:

- Comprehensive understanding of technical accounting and US GAAP
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Problem solver, attentive to details, organized and able to manage various responsibilities
- A mindset to digitize existing month-end close processes.
