We are one of the USA’s top automobile loan providers and we are searching for a **Microsoft T-SQL Database Administrator** (remote in Costa Rica) to be responsible the maintenance and upkeep of multiple SQL Server and My SQL Databases. You will be the primary point of contact for anything related to the database health, performance, and status of the database. As an experienced DBA, you will also be responsible for working with developers to ensure that queries are properly tuned and working well within our environment.

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**
- Manage our mySQL and SQL Server environments
- Tune the database performance
- Review any code deploy and perform all production deploys
- Perform patches and upgrades for databases.
- Create and maintain a database dictionary and ERD for our department as well as others to use.
- Work to build out a data warehouse for the company’s use.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues and document changes.
- Assist other developers with complex queries, helping to tune them and provide best practices.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**ESSENTIALS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL**
- Strong command of mySQL and SQL server tools
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
- PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
- Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality.
- Ability to organize and plan work independently.
- Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.

**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required., preferably in the auto-finance industry.
- **PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to be sedentary for long periods of time.

**LOCATION**
Costa Rica -remote.
**SALARY**
$5,000/month
