**THE ROLE**

The role of a Delivery Manager (DM) is to act as a single point of contact for the entire suite of delivery activities from Development to the Implementation Project Manager. The role is responsible for Project Planning and Delivery Management, Resource Planning & Utilisation, Quality Control & Assurance. The Delivery Manager is also responsible for coordinating and reporting the status of work from the other stake holders of the project. Specifically, the responsibility of the delivery manager is to provide collective status of the project by working closely with the helpdesk, Core Development, Distribution, GPACKs, Country Model Bank, PQC, etc.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide overall development leadership and direct product development teams in the delivery of high-quality products within committed timeframes
- Overall responsibility of planning, execution and delivery of developments/enhancements as per the committed releases, dates and with expected quality levels
- Work with Product Directors/Product Managers/Development Teams to define code drops and co-ordinate the alignment of code drop dependencies
- Co-ordinate through the various teams and stakeholders for all delivery activities and act as the escalation point for all development issues specific to enhancements
- Ensure Scope changes are captured and impacts identified and managed
- Utilize and update internal systems on delivery management in a timely manner, thus ensure timely status reporting
- Ensure 100% compliance to Quality and Release Processes
- Participate, as required, in steering committee meetings, senior executive meetings and other such events
- Responsible for overall planning of resources based on project demands
- Manage allocation of resources to various tasks
- Ensure effective utilization of resources and control effort spent on overrun and support
- Responsible for skills management, career management and mentoring of different project resources
- Responsible for succession planning for the critical resources
- Understand the project skills requirements well ahead and plan for the required training

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Hands-on knowledge and experience of end to end custom software development in a distributed model is required for this position.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in information systems project management, ideally in a banking environment.
- Demonstrate ability to deliver on time, on scope, on quality
- Able to work efficiently in a matrix environment with little or no direct authority over the project team members including partner teams
- Effectively manage large groups of people
- Work with co-DMs /Senior DMs to allocate resources for the best possible outcome across Product
- Mentor and develop other members of staff, providing career development opportunities
- Able to identify risks and issues in relation to a project and mitigate or escalate, as appropriate
- Report progress on projects to senior management and PMO
- Reflect strong stakeholder management with business stakeholders & leadership teams with prime focus on product delivery
- Work with product / functional owners to define scope and delivery managers for resourcing needs
- Identify and remove impediments, communicate risks, issues to delivery managers, product owners and business stakeholders in a timely way and work together to get to a solution with the least impact to sprint cycles
- Project planning and progress monitoring including budget control and milestone control; issue and risk management
- Ability to communicate and interact with internal stakeholders and clients and provide precise and detailed reports and information.
