Job Title: Pension and Benefits Accountant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Pension and Benefits Accountant to join our team in Heredia. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our pension and benefits accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the monthly pension accounting closing process, including performance of system-related activities and controls utilizing SAP.
  • Prepare pension and postretirement accounting journal entries and analyses.
  • Consolidate pension and postretirement reporting.
  • Perform internal controls and assist with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Partner with other corporate functions, such as Tax, Treasury, HR, and LEX, to assist with special projects.
  • Prepare documentation and financial statements for employee benefit plan audits.
  • Assist other team members as needed.
  • Communicate with stakeholders by solving issues, providing guidance, and promoting a customer-oriented culture.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related area.
  • 5+ years' experience in a multinational company with accounting functions.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and ability to prepare statutory, management, and other relevant reporting.
  • US Payroll and/or Benefits/Pension Accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
