Overview

Within the Banking division, we assist financial institutions in making critical decisions regarding their operations, especially in the areas of lending, risk management, and future financial planning. This role entails active participation in the design and development of models and risk management solutions specifically focused on credit risk advisory. We seek highly motivated individuals with a robust quantitative background and exceptional problem-solving abilities to join our dynamic team. This position offers a high-visibility environment in a rapidly evolving sector, providing a challenging and innovative workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a variety of projects, including Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), Exposure at Default (EAD), IFRS 9, stress testing, loan life-cycle models, and analyses related to Basel regulations.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and implementation of Moody's quantitative solutions for various credit risk regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee project streams, ensuring accountability for deliverables linked to client engagements, while guiding Associates in model development, documentation, and presentations.
  • Establish trust with clients by showcasing subject matter expertise and a commitment to excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with client engagement and sales teams, including the creation and presentation of pre-sales materials and client proposals.
  • Exhibit thought leadership and demonstrate creativity in crafting solutions for unique client challenges.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and integrate them into project work.
  • Travel to client sites and other Moody's offices as necessary.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of pertinent experience.
  • Degree in Engineering or a postgraduate qualification in business, statistics, mathematics, economics, or other quantitative fields from reputable institutions.
  • Experience in consulting firms, analytics, or research firms specializing in analytics or banking analytics teams.
  • Strong capabilities in credit risk analytics and model development, with the ability to mentor less experienced analysts.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and accounting standards, including CCAR/DFAST, IFRS 9/CECL, Basel II & III, and model risk management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with a solid background in leading teams and managing client relationships.
  • Technical skills: SAS/SQL, MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint), VBA, Python, R, Matlab.
  • Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, and CQF are advantageous.
