We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team as a Revenue Recognition Team Lead. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving journal entries, reports, and other deliverables during month-end closing (MEC). You will also review and approve account reconciliations, ensure proper follow-up and documentation aligns with IFRS and company policies, provide independent process review, and ensure effective controls are in place.
The role involves supervising a small team (2-3 members), performance review, continuous improvement, and coordinating tasks and managing workloads. You will also proactively highlight risks and opportunities, provide detailed support for audit samples & queries in a timely manner, and support the global team with SOX preparatory project work. Additionally, you will complete the month-end checklist in detail, seek constant process improvements, maintain an updated Business Continuity Plan, and constantly preach best practices to all parties involved.
We are looking for someone with strong oral and written communication skills in English, advanced knowledge of IFRS, ability to lead and inspire a team of individuals, and experience working in fast-paced, results-driven roles within complex organizations. A Senior stakeholder exposure and experience handling sensitive issues/situations and cultural differences are also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve Journal Entries, reports, and other deliverables during MEC.
- Review and approval of account reconciliations and ensure proper follow-up and documentation is aligned with IFRS and company policies.
- Provide independent process review and ensure effective controls are in place.
- Responsible for supervising a small team (2-3 members), performance review, continuous improvement, and coordinating tasks and managing workloads.
- Proactively highlight risks and opportunities.
- Provide detailed support for audit samples & queries in a timely manner.
- Support the global team with SOX preparatory project work.
- Completes the month-end checklist in detail.
- Seeks constant process improvements.
- Maintains an updated Business Continuity Plan.
- Constantly preaches best practices to all parties involved.
- Maintains regular meetings with key stakeholders such as Open Items, BU Liaisons.
- Maintains current process documentation.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Capable of functioning as content expert and lead the team in questions related to their processes.
- Participates in month-end and year-end closing activities including preparing journal entries, gathering information, and producing documentation to support transactions.
- Develops a high-performing team, with clear progression and succession plan including periodical review of process documentation, promoting a cross-training plan that allows work-life balance and business continuity.
- Proactively takes opportunities to improve knowledge, business acumen, soft, and technical skills and is constantly working on ways to cascade this knowledge to his/her team members.
