About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Officer to join our team in Central America. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, agroforestry and natural resource management.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the development, coordination, management and monitoring of agroforestry initiatives with Costa Rica and Guatemala's organizations on behalf of PUR Projet's new and existing clients.
  • To assess the feasibility of, and design new ecosystem restoration projects in different regions of Central America (Guatemala and Costa Rica).
  • To be responsible for data collection with the support of Field Data Collectors Officers.
  • To work with team members across PUR Projet's global team to share information, knowledge and best practices.
  • To supervise & work with local partners (If any) and represent PUR Projet at the manager's request.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in field project implementation and/or management of projects.
  • A university degree in Natural Resource Management, Agronomy, Forestry, Agroforestry or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge/professional experience related to the cocoa/coffee, supply chain and/or cocoa/coffee agronomy.
  • Knowledge in carbon certification for afforestation/reforestation project.
  • Knowledge in tree nursery.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English. French is a plus.
  • Residency and Permit to work in Costa Rica.
