About the Job

We are seeking an experienced CPU Fault Isolation Specialist to join our team at Intel.

Job Overview

This position involves performing fault isolation and failure analysis on next-generation CPUs. The primary goal is to characterize and isolate potential failures from the tester/system bus level down to a single failing node or transistor.

The ideal candidate will employ a wide range of DFT techniques, including SCAN/ATPG, as well as test tools, complemented with knowledge of computer architecture, logic, circuit/VLSI, process, and device physics.

Your Responsibilities
  • Performing fault isolation and failure analysis to determine the root cause of failures.
  • Utilizing various tools and techniques such as system testers, DFx software tools, optical probing, logic and circuit analysis and simulation, probing, and layout study.
  • Developing tools for fault isolation/failure analysis capabilities and techniques on future products.
  • Collaboration and remote analysis with cross-site teams.
  • Working directly with internal customers to help solve and determine the root cause of complex issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or a related field of study.
  • Intermediate to Advanced English Level.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience (Experience may be offset by Master or PhD degree).
  • Knowledge in the use of testers (e.g., CMT/HDMT).
  • Understanding of x86 microprocessor architecture, VLSI design, fab process, and device physics.
