The Opportunity

This role works out of our Alajuela, Zona Franca Coyol location in EP Business. In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through cutting-edge medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and live a normal life.

Job Responsibilities

This position executes documentation control activities, which includes:

• Supporting the development and implementation of optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
• Recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.
• Supporting activities related to installation and validation of production lines as well as the lifecycle management of equipment.
• Maintaining systems that support the monitoring of key performance indicators such as yield, per operators, reject Parettos, etc. If indicators show an adverse trend, working with the functional team to plan and implement appropriate changes.
• Supporting yield/productivity analysis & improvement plans. Analyzing defective material to identify probable cause.
• Supporting in the performance of installation/validation activities for new or existing production lines, meeting regulatory requirements.
• Supporting the purchasing process of equipment/fixtures according to production requirements.
• Keeping equipment operational by coordinating calibration, maintenance, and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service when needed.
• Able to interpret product requirements and specifications. Understanding potential risks related to product malfunctions.
• Having clear criteria of conforming/non-conforming product.
• Executing change requests with the support of the ME. Supporting DL's training process.
• Supporting process improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

High school degree as minimum. 2+ years of experience in similar roles, knowledge in manufacturing processes. Capable of performing data analysis and data collection in Excel or other software. Strong computer software knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

Technical/Engineering Studies are preferred. 3+ years in a Medical Device Manufacturing or similar environment. Intermediate English Level (written and speaking). Capable of supporting investigations using root cause problem-solving methodologies.
