Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position will be determined by the step on our salary scale. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer health care through the Costa Rican national health care system (CAJA), visa/immigration expenses reimbursed in the second year of employment, Aguinaldo (Christmas bonus), and participation in the national teacher retirement plan (Magisterio managed by Jupema).

Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic teacher who can design engaging lessons on their topic of study. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching middle school students and modifying or adapting lessons for English Language Learners and students with learning differences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching up to 22 class periods per week
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons on the topic of study
  • Maintaining attendance and grade records
  • Writing semester and yearly curricular descriptions
  • Writing reports on student progress twice a year
  • Participating in parent/teacher conferences
  • Maintaining contact with students' families
  • Serving as a homeroom teacher/advisor
  • Supervising students during recess and lunch
  • Participating in committee work
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in History or Humanities and teaching certification. You should also have experience teaching middle school students and possess strong organizational skills, initiative, and energy.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Teaching certification in Costa Rica
  • Experience working with Quakerism curriculum
Location

This position is located in Campton, NH 03223. We are an international team of teachers and expect applicants to be able to relocate to this location.
