Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Driven Business Analyst to join our Account Integrity team within the Selling Partner Support organization at Amazon Support Services Costa Rica Srl. As a Data Driven Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in leveraging data to drive business decisions and prevent bad actors from harming our genuine customers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, with experience in working with large datasets and identifying complex customer trends. You will be responsible for analyzing data sets in partnership with product managers, scientists, and engineers to drive root cause analysis of ever-changing bad actor behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data-driven solutions to identify and prevent bad actor activity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business decisions and develop strategic plans
- Analyze complex customer trends to identify patterns and develop attributes that clearly articulate those patterns and incorporate them into static rules for automated deployment in our account creation pipeline
- Develop and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc., within SQL and other BI tools
- Support the design and development of alarm systems, derive actionable insights, and guide product strategy for stakeholders and leadership
- Enable effective decision-making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
- Communicate complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing
A Day in the Life
As a Data Driven Business Analyst, you will be involved in various activities such as:
- Reviewing instances of bad actor account activity and creating rules for short-term and mechanisms for long-term to stop them
- Reporting on fraud and abuse trends and leveraging that information to support product development inputs
- Creating and maintaining dashboards that detect and inform stakeholders (such as downstream payment and abuse product owners) on how to stop fraud and abuse via early-stage detection of bad actor behavior
- Participating and leading process improvement initiatives across account integrity teams
- Developing rules to mitigate bad actor activity
- Logging in during on-call week to respond to any high-severity events and if needed developing short-term rules to mitigate impact
About the Team
Our team consists of Business Analysts and Risk Mining specialists who roll up under the Account Integrity Machine Learning Team. We evaluate instances of organized bad actor account take-over and creation of fraudulent accounts on Amazon. We collaborate closely across multiple functions to mitigate these attacks through various short- and long-term solutions.
