Sustainability Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- ESG Strategy Formulation: Design and implement a holistic ESG strategy that reflects the organization's mission, values, and future goals.
- Environmental Projects: Spearhead initiatives aimed at minimizing the company's ecological impact through sustainable resource management and energy conservation.
- Community Engagement: Direct social responsibility programs and community outreach efforts, nurturing positive interactions with employees, stakeholders, and the community at large.
- Governance and Compliance: Foster robust corporate governance and ethical standards, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and transparency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Cultivate and sustain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, advocating for transparency and ESG principles throughout the organization.
- ESG Reporting: Generate and disseminate ESG reports for stakeholders, aligning with established reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB).
- Sustainability Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of ESG initiatives and communicate progress to leadership.
- Employee Development: Create training initiatives that promote a culture of ESG awareness and accountability among staff.
- Responsible Investment: Partner with finance and procurement teams to ensure ethical investment and procurement practices, including ESG-focused strategies and responsible supplier selection.
- Advocacy and Collaboration: Represent the organization in industry groups and partnerships focused on ESG and sustainability.
- Quality Management Integration: Collaborate on the integration of management systems (ISO9001-ISO14001) to ensure compliance with quality and sustainability regulations and standards.
- Quality Improvement: Conduct thorough evaluations of existing policies, procedures, and objectives to initiate continuous improvement within Simpson Housing.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, ESG).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of ESG principles, regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and data analytics.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Sustainability, ESG, or a related field.
- Experience with ISO14001 environmental standards.
- Knowledge of carbon neutrality practices.
- Expertise in occupational and environmental health.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods.
- Regularly required to use a computer, telephone, keyboard, and other office equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision for computer work.
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
