At Medtronic, we believe that when people from different cultures, genders, and points of view come together, innovation is the result — and everyone wins. We walk the walk, creating an inclusive culture where you can thrive.

A Day in the Life

In this role, you'll configure and operate various machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, sanders, and precision rectifiers, to fabricate metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines with exact tolerances and dimensions. You'll interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications; determine the sequence of operations, number of cuts needed, and preparation method; utilize manual machining tools and precision measuring instruments; perform standard shop calculations related to workpiece dimensions, tools, advances, and speeds; measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to prepare material for machining; adjust and assemble precision parts on mechanical equipment and determine necessary materials, parts, and equipment.

You may modify CNC programs on numerically controlled (NC) machines. You'll work collaboratively with engineers, maintenance technicians, quality specialists, and other process stakeholders. Additionally, you may supervise and verify quality according to statistical processes control or other quality control procedures.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. A degree in Precision Mechanics from a Technical Vocational College or INA is preferred. At least 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience or prior internship experience in medical device manufacturing is required. Availability to work a daytime shift is essential. Proficiency in reading blueprints is mandatory. Experience with mechanical shops, lathes, manual milling machines, CNC machines, surface grinders, and optical comparators is desired.
