Department Overview
The Ratings team is responsible for analyzing financial documents and data provided by Issuers. Our team of experts works closely with ratings analysts to explain the data, adjustments, and other information needed.
Job Description
As a Financial Data Analyst, you will have a significant input to the ratings process by analyzing financial statements and data provided by Issuers. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing financial statement analysis and reviewing financial documents related to issuers' performance.
- Using accounting and finance knowledge and judgment to adjust reported data per relevant methodology requirements.
- Working directly with ratings analysts to explain the data, adjustments, and other information needed.
- Building documentation and providing mentorship to support analysts and outsourcers.
- Reviewing, adjusting, and publishing data to external market participants.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A B.A. or B.S. degree; specializations in Business management, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance preferred.
- Knowledge in analyzing financial documents and accounting required.
- Prior experience 1-3 years in analyzing financial documents and accounting a plus.
- Fully proficient in English, capacity to express ideas and attend calls and meetings.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, such as pivot tables, lookups, etc.
