Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Confluent Medical Technologies. This role will be responsible for procuring raw materials, OEM components, capital equipment, tooling, supplies, and services to ensure customer service levels while achieving targeted inventory turns and minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and expedite purchase orders based on MRP and relevant business information.
  • Coordinate with Planners to maintain optimal service levels and prioritize material support.
  • Monitor and track purchase orders, communicating any issues or delays to the Value Stream team, manufacturing manager, or other impacted disciplines.
  • Support material needs for product development and generate ongoing cost savings through the Value Improvement Process.
  • Participate in PDP teams for sourcing materials and manage complex commodities and responsibilities.
  • Display leadership by promoting change ideas and driving implementation.

Supplier Management:

  • Monitor and communicate quality and delivery performance to suppliers.
  • Obtain bids to promote a competitive environment and select suppliers that maximize company funds.
  • Resolve supplier-related problems and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and adhere to FDA and BSI requirements.

Inventory Management:

  • Manage complex, high-impact, or high-financial-risk commodities and responsibilities.
  • Formulate purchasing decisions to achieve internal customer service, targeted inventory turns, and least total cost material procurement.
  • Identify expired, excess, and obsolete materials and dispose of them appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of related experience.
  • College degree required.
  • Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a self-managed work team environment.
  • Ability to work differing work schedules.
  • Intermediate to advanced level written and oral English communication skills required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
