As a Financial Data Analyst at Moody's Investors Service, you will be part of our Ratings Operations & Controls (ROC) organization, which is dedicated to supporting ratings accuracy and timely market impact by delivering high-quality, consistent work product while driving process excellence, enhancing professional development, and career paths for analytic and operational support staff.
Your primary responsibility will be to analyze financial statements and data provided by issuers, using your accounting and finance knowledge and judgment to perform financial statement analysis, adjust reported data per relevant methodology requirements, and review and analyze ratios. You will also work directly with ratings and support analysts to explain the data, adjustments, and other information needed by the rating team for ratings and research.
In addition to regular daily responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to work on new projects such as technology projects, accounting changes, analytic reviews, methodology updates, and implementation of operational improvements. We also provide valuable training classes and interaction with analysts as part of knowledge transfer and career growth.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in business management, public administration, accounting, or finance, and be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel. Previous work experience is not required, but preferred. If you are organized, diligent, able to multitask and balance priorities, display initiative, and can work independently in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.
