We are seeking a highly skilled Culinary Expert to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. in Residence Inn San Jose Escazu.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year.

Job Description:

Cook I Job Responsibilities

Prepare special meals or substitute items as required by the menu and inventory management system.

Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure optimal cooking conditions.

Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator according to established procedures.

Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to meet quality standards.

Maintain accurate records of food usage and monitor inventory levels.

Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.

Communicate assistance needed during busy periods to maintain efficient service.

Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials to minimize waste and increase profitability.

Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items to ensure timely updates.

Ensure the quality of food items is consistently high by following recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.

Prepare and cook cold foods according to established procedures.

Key Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical, trade, or vocational school degree preferred.

At least 3 years of related work experience in a fast-paced culinary environment.

No supervisory experience required.

Licensed or certified in food safety and handling procedures.
