Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Management Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating high volume, time-sensitive, and critical project functions across the value chain targeting global customers.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. As a Project Management Specialist, you will be responsible for managing hand-offs and tracking work between design teams, application engineers, and offshore resources to meet customer expectations. You will also coordinate with engineering teams to ensure project bill of materials and designs follow documented customer standards.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage hand-offs and track work between design teams, application engineers, and offshore resources to meet customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure project bill of materials and designs follow documented customer standards.
  • Review and submit initial system designs to customers and monitor design approval processes.
  • Create initial pricing sheets leveraging standardized global pricing and coordinate with JCI regional/country contacts for local pricing requirements.
  • Follow up and review with JCI regional/country contacts to ensure local pricing and equipment additions align with customer standards.
  • Finalize and submit proposals according to approved customer formats.
  • Track and report on all pre-sales activities and milestones to program managers, Strategic Account Managers, and customers.
  • Assist local teams on technical issues reported for international projects.
  • Track receipt of customer approvals and purchase orders for all projects.
  • Review drawings before they go out to ensure they meet customer standards.
  • Facilitate/manage field calls from customers and Strategic Account Managers.
  • Facilitate conference calls and track projects.
  • Provide continuous job progress updates to teams and customers.
  • Track/resolve all post-installation problems.


Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, electrical, electromechanical or similar engineering fields.
  • 1-2 years sales/project coordinating experience required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to effectively interact and integrate with internal organization and customer representatives.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.


Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as a project manager or coordinator is preferred, as well as PMP certification or similar. Proficiency in Smartsheet and Salesforce is also beneficial. Familiarity with construction layouts and security systems is a plus.

What We Offer
