Your Role
As a Microsoft T-SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, performance, and status of multiple SQL Server and My SQL databases. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all database-related inquiries and work closely with developers to optimize query performance and ensure smooth database operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mySQL and SQL Server environments to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
- Tune database performance to meet business needs and resolve any bottlenecks
- Review code deployments and perform production deployments to maintain data integrity
- Perform patches and upgrades for databases to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies
- Create and maintain a database dictionary and ERD for internal teams to use
- Design and implement a data warehouse to support business intelligence initiatives
- Refine and automate regular processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors
- Collaborate with developers to provide guidance on complex queries and best practices
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems to ensure minimal downtime
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong command of mySQL and SQL server tools, including advanced knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery standards
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling principles
- Proficiency in PowerShell and Unix shell scripting
- Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
