The Opportunity
This position is based in our Costa Rica - Alajuela location, within the Structural Heart Division. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading production teams to achieve business objectives and expectations on a daily basis. This role requires strong leadership skills, human resources management expertise, quality systems knowledge, and manufacturing process understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and correct peers' completion of supervisory responsibilities for production teams, including personnel scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, staff selection, and training.
- Lead initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance within all production areas, adhering to internal and external requirements (FDA, TUV, etc.).
- Responsible for reporting quality issues immediately and co-leading investigations and solutions.
- Develop and execute plans to accomplish production goals, including productivity indicators, schedule adherence, quality, cost, and service while maintaining a safe environment.
- Have full responsibility/ownership of your area of production and related areas, including analyzing different systems to evaluate efficiency and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Administration, or a related field.
- 4-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in manufacturing systems used to collect data and control/monitor processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO and quality systems, such as FDA and MDD.
- Flexibility to work on different shifts schedules and areas is preferred.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead/influence peers and other functions towards organizational goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Costa Rica laws applicable to direct labor operators is a plus.
- Master's Degree is a plus.
