Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Platform R&D team. As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain new or improved solutions for Netskope's production services. You will participate in strategic and tactical infrastructure initiatives by designing, building, and managing complex computing systems based primarily on microservice architectures.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Foster collaboration and teamwork within the company by embracing our corporate culture.
  2. Support the development of implementations, service definitions, component interfaces, and experimental prototypes for systems within a product or service family.
  3. Design, develop, test, document, and implement strategies, automation, and solutions for Netskope's production services.
  4. Understand and communicate non-functional requirements for the system, such as security, reliability, scalability, maintainability, etc.
  5. Become a subject matter expert on designated Netskope products, services, and their dependent infrastructure to support and improve the reliability, function, and scalability of these solutions.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a combination of comparable education and experience typically obtained by 3 or more years related work experience.
  2. 2+ years of demonstrated expertise in designing, building, and managing complex computing systems, including 1-2 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  3. Comprehensive understanding of computer internal architecture and design, including working knowledge of specific details and design of some variants of the *NIX based operating systems.
  4. Demonstrated ability to develop production-grade distributed and scalable services in collaboration with stakeholders in a distributed workforce environment.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly when interfacing with peers in engineering and QA.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated ability to sanitize and automate a rapidly growing global system.
  2. Deep expertise with operational support systems, automation, and CI/CD tools.
  3. Knowledge of the Agile project management methodologies.
  4. Knowledge in a variety of programming languages, including Go, Rust, C, and C++.
  5. Experience with modern cloud and virtualization technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, KVM, OpenNebula, OpenStack, or any orchestration platforms.
  6. Established track record for providing valuable technical details to developers and engineers.
  7. Established track record for providing valuable feedback during planning and implementation of existing projects.
