**Role Overview**
- Manages the activities of an engineering department with responsibility for results, costs
- (e.g.
CAPEX) and staffing.
- Develops midterm engineering strategy, resource and training plans
- Ensures right capabilities are assigned to projects
- Ensures adherence and proposes improvements to business processes
- Drives team efficiency
- Supports make or buy and in/outsourcing decisions
- Co-leads sourcing plans for tools, equipment and manufacturing processes
- Supports definition of continuous improvement programs
- Initiates projects for improving the manufacturability of products

**Responsibilities**
- Creates a working environment that continuously improves the Health and Safety of workers, including identification and management of occupational risk, provision of information and training, review of performance and provision of sufficient resources to maintain an effective H&S program
- Leads a team that includes Engineers in activities that support the development, sustaining and continuous improvement of world-class manufacturing processes.
- Establishes and controls the budget for New Product Introduction, sustaining and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing methods, processes and equipment.
- Ensures capability building of required capabilities
- Responsible for supporting the Corrective/Preventive Action process, and for process capabilities in the factory.
- Drives activities related to sustaining and improving process yield, product design
- changes, cycle time improvement, cost and safety.
- Responsible for the collection and analysis of factory data, and determining priorities and action plans based on the results.
- Supervises, selects, develops, coaches and evaluates personnel to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the department.
- Assesses emerging manufacturing technologies and determine how to map them into product development roadmaps.
- Identifies required funding of all manufacturing projects and investments.
- Accountable for Manufacturing Master Data
- Manages and deploys the processes and standards with embedded quality into the way of working including adherence to compliance with safety, regulatory
- and environmental requirements as well as local laws, Philips General Business principles and other policies

**Requirements**:

- Intermediate-Advanced English
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Master Degree
- Experience in Manufacturing/Operations environment and/or Engineering
- Team lead experience (with limited budget ownership experience required)
