This opportunity will allow you to become a trusted advisor and partner for a dynamic and diverse sales organization supporting sales in Central America and the Caribbean, contributing to the success of both organizations dynamic and diverse organization supporting sales across different geographies in Central America and the Caribbean.
You will be based in San Jose, Costa Rica but will have the necessary flexibility to work from home as needed.
You will report to the Commercial Lead Attorney of Microsoft Latin America, based in Fort Lauderdale.

**Responsibilities**:
Legal Advice and Counsel
You serve as a contributor to clients and colleagues about legal and related business matters (e.g., privacy, intellectual property, regulatory compliance).
- You identify and anticipate legal risks in the client's business, technology, and/or public policy, and propose solutions to mitigate future risk.
- You review, interpret, and analyze legal information; and maintain a basic understanding of legal principles within your primary legal practice area.
- You advise and help clients understand compliance issues, identify risks including anti-trust/anti-corruption, and offer solutions.
- You identify and engage appropriate stakeholders in Legal and Corporate Affairs and business to escalate issues.
Operational Excellence
- You provide input and continuous feedback to improve process efficiencies within role; identifies opportunities and tools to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- You resolve issues by managing interactions with internal escalation paths, outside counsel or other service providers.
- You contribute your expertise and share best practices to Microsoft's commercial attorneys in Latin America, seeking to build skills and scale for effective legal support.
Communication
- You organize and simplify issues and ideas in written or verbal communication.
- You work collaboratively within and across Legal and Corporate functions.
- You develop positive relationships with external and legal professions, customers, and partners to advocate for Microsoft's interests.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum Qualifications
- Law degree (JD, LLB or equivalent) from accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in any jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.
- 5 years of experience as a transactional lawyer in-house and/or at a law firm.
- English and Spanish language proficiency.
- Based in San Jose, Costa Rica required.
