**What is your mission in this role?
**

The Senior NPI Buyer is responsible for Support on the material and CAPEX purchasing for project that are in the New Product Introduction stage.
**What you will be doing**:
The Senior NPI Buyer Coordinates with Project Management and Sales to maintain inventory levels consistent with production requirements and targeted inventory goals.
Evaluates bid responses, negotiate price, delivery schedules, and place purchase orders in accordance with Company policies, procedures and government regulations.
Monitors and facilitates improvements in material cost reduction, quality, and delivery.
Also, evaluates and manages vendor performance to insure on time deliveries and adherence to quality specifications.
Utilizes the ERP to procure materials for manufacturing production inventory consistent with quality, delivery and costs expectations.
Prepares reports, attend meetings and respond to special assignments.
Communicates daily engineering & quality changes to all vendors.
The NPI Senior Buyer creates new product BOM's, purchasing orders as required for new product implementation.
Works with suppliers to improve payment terms based on company requirements.
Mentors less experienced Buyers and Purchasing Assistants, seen as area SME.
Deals with escalations and determines when to escalate to management.
