West Monroe has developed an innovative data management platform called Intellio DataOps (IDO) which is a metadata-driven, fully-managed data lake and data hub with data warehouse automation features. IDO can be deployed to the client's cloud and be ready to start ingesting source data in just a few days. Our team then focuses on supporting and iteratively tackling client business issues, using IDO's web-based user interface to ingest, cleanse, enrich, and publish new data as needed without worrying about technical aspects such as data modeling, change data capture, scaling, schema drift, storage, data lineage, and performance.

IDO is very popular with clients as they get a ready to use, enterprise-grade data platform and a consulting team focused on solving business issues on week one of the engagement. West Monroe is looking for an experienced data operations engineer to join our team and support IDO in the following ways:
**Core Responsibilities**:

- Work with Clients to support their data platform
- Attend daily/weekly check-in meetings
- Provide open lines of communication to key stakeholders
- Describe and communicate platform issues
- Recommend minor enhancements and development approaches
- Support development/support task prioritization
- Work with line delivery teams to understand current state development, use cases, and operational tasks to support the data platform
- Support existing IDO data platform implementations
- Interpret IDO error messages to troubleshoot data pipelines
- Research data quality issues and recommend remediation steps
- Maintain master and reference data
- Monitor performance, tune and escalate as needed
- Monitor cloud spend and platform usage
- Validate data processing quality and completeness
- Communicate with Client and Product teams to escalate platform issues
- Work with IDO product support team to update platform configurations within DataBricks (cluster size, job orchestration, resource allocation, etc.)
- Learn the IDO platform and deliver minor enhancements in the following ways:

- Add configurations for data enrichments such as lookups, type conversions, calculations, and concatenations
- Add data quality rules
- Connect to new data sources
- Map multiple sources into a single output
- Enhance outputs that facilitate reporting, dashboarding, and semantic modeling for tools such as Tableau and Power BI
- Promote code from development to production environments according to Client procedures
- Mentor and manage other support resources, provide feedback and recommendations to grow their capabilities and skills
- Test development, accuracy, and quality of code in Intellio DataOps
- Work with other support resources to validate code and final output in data warehouse tables and reports
- Leverage ZenDesk to submit IDO issues and maintain development documentation
- Review features and recommend updates to functionality in the IDO platform

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on professional development/data operations support experience preferred.
- Very strong SQL skills for data analysis required
- Strong technical experience in ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Informatica, Talend, IBM DataStage, etc.), database platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Oracle)
- Knowledge of traditional data modeling (Kimball, Inmon) in addition to modern, denormalized, flat data models

**Nice-to-Haves**:

- Experience building or working with metadata-driven ETL / ELT patterns and concepts.
- Experience developing BI reports in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, IBM Cognos, or SAP Business Objects)
- Experience scripting data engineering pipelines in languages such as Python, Scala, and/or Java.
- A detailed understanding and hands on experience preferred implementing data management technologies, including data warehousing, reporting, analysis, data modeling, etc.
- Experience with Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Kinesis, Hadoop, and/or Lambda.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure automation tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager.
- Possession of cloud certifications such as: AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals, or Google Associate Cloud Engineer.
