**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

The Tax Assistant Manager - will ensure timely and accurate reporting and payment of direct tax liabilities. The role will require technical tax and accounting knowledge with a thorough understanding of core processes related to direct tax liabilities. The Tax Assistant Manager will also be responsible for areas of continuous process improvement. The role will require excellent communication and business partnering skills across the entire organization. The position is responsible to support Federal, State and Local Direct tax (Income Tax), Net Worth, and Gross Receipts tax compliance, accounting, and forecasting. To be effective in the role the individual must acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge for all relevant tax laws and regulations.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Ensure and monitor that all tasks are completed accurately and on a timely basis consistent with regulatory requirements and related Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Actively develop and maintain good working relationships with key commercial stakeholders and team members.
- Actively search out areas for process improvement, identify any gaps in efficiency and effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
- Develop workable knowledge of applicable governmental laws and regulations of direct tax areas.
- Ensure transactions are documented in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Responsible to ensure all SOX / operational and internal controls are followed.
- Proactively assist in providing information as needed during an audit and or review by internal audit and or external governmental authorities.
- Assist with the recruiting, development, and leadership of support from the Costa Rica Global Shared Service Center.

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**

**Experience Required**
- 4+ years’ experience in a multinational company.
- 2+ years' experience in Direct Tax.
- Experience on Planning and Reporting are desirable.
- Must have proven ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

**Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required**
- Good knowledge of ERPs, SAP, OneSource preferred.
- Strong accounting knowledge, ability to prepare Statutory, Management, and other relevant reporting.
- Proficient with database or data management systems.
- Knowledge of accounting for direct taxes.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Intermediate - Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- BPC knowledge is very desirable.
- High-quality customer service mentality.
- Work proficient in written and verbal English (B2+ or C1)

**Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required**
- BA/BS Accounting, Finance, or Business or the equivalent of 5 years tax experience.
- Master’s in Business Administration or C.P.A. (preferred).

**BENEFICIAL**
- Knowledge of various franchise taxes, gross margin, and or gross receipts taxes.
- Knowledge of U.S. Federal income tax laws and regulations.
- Experience in the Shared Services environment and Business Partnering.
- Knowledge in automation tools - Power apps, macros, Alteryx, Power BI, etc.
