About the job:

The Sr. Technical Project Manager position blends project management and database administration responsibilities.

Performs project management and technology services for IT system projects of all sizes, including highly complex projects affecting the entire enterprise.

Manages projects through completion and transition of responsibility to other technology and business resources.


He/She will develop detailed project plans and milestones and coordinate with engineering teams to manage and deliver the projects & programs.

Review project and budget status, manage schedules, and prepare progress reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops project progress monitoring, intervention, and problem-solving mechanisms with project managers, project team, and other stakeholders.

Essential duties and job responsibilities:

  • Directly manage all aspects of the project lifecycle. Responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of technology projects across engineering, legal, and business departments. Accountable for full life cycle project management, including project initiation and planning, development, testing, implementation, and closeout.
  • Plan, program, and recommend allocation of resources to support the mission and associated goals and objectives. Responsibility for assembling the project staff; for their technical or functional development, performance, and/or termination during the project or projects. Develop, prioritize, and defend Engineering resource requirements.
  • Develop project schedules and recommends appropriate leadlag times. Plan workload for multiple project management teams and deconflict resources. Provide forwardlooking schedule analysis to Leadership.
  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas. Analyze to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
  • Coordinating with talent acquisition teams to source the capabilities, skills, and technology necessary to meet project needs.
  • Regular, periodic project management status meetings are conducted to apprise all stakeholders of project progress, issues, challenges, risks, and project management activities.
  • Defining and tracking project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an integrated delivery plan.
  • Accurately assessing, managing, and reporting dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Developing required project artifacts such as project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, etc., depending on methodology (Waterfall, Agile).
  • Publishing periodic project status reports.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of managing large and complex engineering projects.
  • Very strong communications skills (C2).
  • Excellent knowledge of standardized project management principles and their usage (project management body of knowledge or PMBOK).
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and techniques of analysis, design, development, and implementation of complex computer and communications systems in a complex network environment.
  • Expert knowledge of database systems and technology.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory and security standards and best practices including PCIDSS, HIPAA, CJIS, CIS, and NIST.
  • Strong knowledge of tools and techniques to analyze technical issues, monitor availability, identify root cause, and correct problems.
  • Strong project management skills, including budget preparation and tracking, communications coordination, and time and task management with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Deep level of engineering technical project management experience managing engineering projects, priorities.
  • Experience in Agile programming approach scrum teams, scrum master, etc.
  • Attention to detail project management focusing on progress instead of updates.
  • Extensive knowledge of onprem and cloud database environments like Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle, Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Relational Database Service, Azure databases.
  • Certification Required: PMP and CSM.
