About the role:

 

At this role you will be a Cloud Network Engineer will play a key role in project delivery with hands on experience in upgrading cloud network platforms and migrating applications to the cloud. The role will require strong knowledge of various cloud network technologies. The role will be a critical member of an agile enterprise cloud services engineering team working to build and support multi- cloud/hybrid solutions.

 

A day in this role:

 

  • Work on multiple projects and initiatives related to networking in the cloud. Mostly work on AWS, but projects can also involve other cloud providers like Azure.
  • Work with the business units to migrate their accounts to new connectivity model.
  • Work with the business units to migrate their applications onto centralized connectivity platforms.
  • Setup and test connectivity to new cloud accounts.
  • Documentation of current configurations, feature additions, and project status.
  • Work with a global team to support cloud platforms in multiple regions.
  • Solve problems related to mission critical services and build automation to proactively detect and prevent their reoccurrences.
  • Collaborate via open communication reaching across functional borders to analyze, tune, and configure automated platform infrastructure and systems .

 

The expertise requested:

 

  • 2-4 years of experience with AWS networking services in a hands-on, day-to-day role in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including an ability to identify the root cause of network connectivity issues including timeouts, intermittent connectivity, latency issues, firewall drops, asynchronous routing, etc.
  • Experience with the following AWS services: Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPC, ALB, NLB, PrivateLink, EKS, and other networking services.
  • Experience migrating applications from on-premise to cloud, or upgrading shared applications or platforms in AWS.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex routing scenarios spanning cloud and on-premise.
  • Experience working with multiple Business Units and leadership from multiple teams.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow through. Ability to plan changes with good detail, communicate these details to multiple teams, and document changes after successful implementations.
  • Ability to work in a highly efficient team working on multiple simultaneous projects and while delivering results on all tasks and projects assigned.
  • Great communication skills with other team members, business units, and leadership.

 

Desired or nice to have expertise:

 
  • Learning Attitude and desire to learn while helping our delivery team to reach our business goals.
  • Experience with cloud networking concepts in other cloud providers (ie: Azure, GCP, OCI)
  • Experience with Checkpoint firewalls, Citrix Netscaler load balancers, or SecureSphere WAF devices
  • Automation: CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible
  • Coding: Python
  • AWS Advanced Networking – Specialty
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner
