Homologation Engineer

On behalf of Huawei, a world-renowned information and communication technology company, we are looking for talents for the position of Homologation Engineer to join our team We are looking for a local Homologation Engineer in Costa Rica to support the certification, homologation, and operator acceptance of mobile and connected devices. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in the telecommunications industry, solid knowledge of consumer electronic devices, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role will be responsible for independently managing local certification and operator acceptance activities for smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, CPEs, routers, and other connected devices. The position will also coordinate with SUTEL, ICE, Claro, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure testing and approval activities are completed in line with product launch schedules.

Responsibilities:
1. Device Certification & Operator Homologation Testing Independently conduct certification and operator homologation testing for smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, CPEs, routers, and other terminal devices. Coordinate and manage local certification and testing activities, including SUTEL certification, as well as operator acceptance testing with ICE and Claro. Follow up on test requirements, test plans, technical issues, and certification results to ensure projects are completed successfully and on schedule to obtain TA (Technical Approval). Identify and troubleshoot technical issues encountered during testing and coordinate with internal teams and customers to drive solutions. 2. Customer & Operator Relationship Management Establish and maintain strong working relationships with local operators, certification organizations, and other relevant customers. Communicate effectively with customers and partners to understand technical requirements and ensure smooth project execution. Act as a key local technical contact for certification and operator acceptance activities. 3.
Teamwork & Problem Solving Work closely with cross-functional and international teams to coordinate project activities and resolve technical challenges. Proactively take on challenges and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership. Apply innovative and practical approaches to solve project-related problems and improve testing and certification efficiency.

Requirements:
100% On-site work Good english level (conversational) +3years of relevant work experience in the telecommunications, mobile communications, consumer electronics, or related industries. Practical experience in device certification, homologation, operator acceptance testing, network testing, or technical approval is highly preferred. Experience working with mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, CPEs, routers, or other connected devices is preferred. Experience coordinating with telecom operators, certification organizations, or regulatory authorities is a strong advantage. Experience with SUTEL, ICE, and/or Claro certification or operator acceptance processes is highly preferred. Experience in project management, including coordinating testing activities, tracking project milestones, and obtaining approvals according to product launch schedules.
