At Böëna Lodges, we’re looking for the person who will be second-in-command at our lodges and step in as Manager on Duty. This role is for someone who wants to lead a remote lodge operation and deliver White Glove service, not a desk job.
Salary:
USD 2,500 gross per month, paid in USD, at all three lodges. Your role
• Deliver White Glove service: anticipate guests’ needs, personalize every stay and personally attend VIP guests
• Lead Front Desk, Concierge and service teams (Housekeeping, Spa, Restaurant) and hold them to the Böëna standard every day
• Take charge of the lodge when the General Manager is away, making operational decisions and leading emergency response
• Keep discipline and control of operations: standards, procedures, KPIs and operating costs
• Coordinate with our head office in San José (Sales, Marketing, HR) Requirements
• Studies in Hotel Management, Tourism or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in high-end hospitality or luxury travel, including leading guest service teams (Front Desk, Concierge or similar) and covering management duties (Duty Manager, Shift Manager or similar)
• Knowledge of White Glove service, and the willingness and ability to deliver it
• Relentless pursuit of excellence in guest service
• Strong team leadership: motivating, developing and holding teams accountable
• Discipline and control: consistent follow-through on standards, procedures and policies
• Hotel reservation systems (EPIC preferred) and Microsoft Office
• Conflict resolution, KPI tracking, and basic knowledge of cost control and budgets
• Advanced English (C1), fluent with international guests
• First aid and emergency management (a plus)
• Sound decision-making under pressure and attention to detail
• Willingness to live and sleep at the lodge during the work week
• 6 days a week, with 1 rotating day off, in remote locations
What we offer
• Complimentary stays at our hotels
• Subsidized meals
• A lively, adventure-filled workplace full of challenges
• A great team and work environment If you envision yourself leading exceptional guest experiences in the heart of the rainforest while living in a tropical paradise, we'd love to hear from you
