Job Description
As a Cloud Software Development Engineer in the System Simulation and Modeling (SSM) organization, you will be a technical leader responsible for architecting, developing, and scaling software solutions that enable Intel's next generation platforms before silicon is available. You will drive innovations in simulation, system software, automation, and cloud infrastructure that accelerate firmware and software development across Intel product lines. In this role, you will partner closely with architects, firmware engineers, operating system developers, silicon designers, and software teams to create high-fidelity development environments and shift-left solutions that improve product quality, reduce execution risk, and enable faster time-to-market. Your work will directly influence Intel's ability to develop, integrate, validate, and optimize complex system software stacks in a cloud-native development ecosystem. You will be expected to solve ambiguous technical challenges, influence technical direction across teams, mentor engineers, and drive execution from concept through production deployment. The System Simulation and Modeling (SSM) team is part of the Product Enablement Solutions Group (PESG). We are transforming how Intel firmware and software are developed, integrated, and validated through advanced simulation, modeling, automation, and cloud technologies. Our team develops large-scale system simulation platforms that enable software development and validation months before silicon availability. These capabilities are critical to Intel's product execution strategy, reducing schedule risk while accelerating innovation across Data Center, AI, and emerging platform technologies. The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:
• Architect and develop scalable software solutions that enable simulation, system modeling, automation, and cloud-based development workflows.
• Lead the design and implementation of software frameworks that support firmware, drivers, operating systems, middleware, SDKs, and system-level software validation.
• Drive shift-left strategies that enable software development, integration, and validation well ahead of hardware availability.
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to identify requirements, influence technical direction, and deliver integrated solutions across the software stack.
• Apply AI-assisted development techniques, automation, and advanced tooling to improve engineering productivity and solution quality.
• Lead root-cause analysis and debug of complex system-level issues involving firmware, operating systems, drivers, hardware-software interactions, and simulation environments.
• Drive engineering excellence through software architecture reviews, code reviews, technical mentorship, and adoption of best practices.
• Identify technical risks proactively and define mitigation strategies to ensure successful product execution.
• Influence long-term architecture and technology investments that improve simulation fidelity, scalability, and developer productivity.
