Senior Finance Operations Manager

We are seeking a Sr Operations Finance Manager to join our dynamic team of industry leading experts in Costa Rica. This role reports to the Corporate Director of Finance with a strong dotted line to the VP of Operations at the Site and is the key Financial business partner to the Platform Operations leaders, Corporate FP&A, and Commercial teams. This position may be responsible for multiple site locations and/or Product lines (Platforms) and will travel as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide Overall financial leadership to multi-site location or multiple Product Platforms / Value Streams to deliver Operational and Financial results.
• Provide counsel to business leaders to drive and optimize revenue growth, profitability, inventory, cash, and capital investment while identifying Risks and Opportunities
• Provide business decision support, guidance, and oversight of site financial planning, analysis, and internal controls
• Strategic business partner to the site VP of Operations & Operations Platform leader(s), while collaborating with FP&A and peer Sr Operations Finance Manager(s) to meet site P&L targets.
• Perform detailed budgeting, forecasting, and business development support
• Ensure predictability of financial results by driving effective AOP and monthly forecasting processes resulting in accurate estimates of the sites Revenue, COGS, headcount, and Profit
• Provide local Platform support of PRR / PSR initiatives and analysis of projects along with life cycle reviews while ensuring cross-site alignment on resources with peer Sr Operations Finance Manager(s)
• Provide local Platform support on capital / CAR support, development, and analysis while ensuring impact on site is balanced across platforms
• Establish, maintain, and enforce proper internal control policies and procedures
• Review Operating results, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to improve overall operational and financial performance
• Provide a reconciliation of the Platforms operational and financial performance & develop bridges accordingly
• Work closely with Platform manufacturing operations and Cost Accounting to ensure accuracy of material, labor, and overhead cost allocated to jobs
• Demonstrate Labor capacity planning, costing, and controlling proficiency across production lines
• Participate in the month-end close process, including proposing and analyzing journal entries and analysis of various operating reports, coordinating with Cost Accounting on journal entry creation to address corrections to the reported results, and preparing flash reports and walks
• Prepare Platform monthly Trend review information and support, partnering with Operations leaders
• Support and incorporate FP&A detailed analysis of departmental actual spending vs. budget cost
• Provide insight on optimizing inventory performance and Days-On-Hand/Turns, while ensuring accuracy of inventory valuation and influencing appropriate disposition of reserves at assigned sites / Platforms
• Support Cost Accounting in the annual process for setting standard cost
• Provide analysis to support Cost Accounting during standard cost for new products including review of bill of materials and method of manufacturing
• Provide deep analysis of weekly reporting and analysis against Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) while ensuring support for FP&A management of site support cost centers
• Analyze product profitability
• Lead significant focus on site level continuous improvement ideation, measurement, and reporting.
• Work closely with operations to implement and achieve lean initiatives
• Support site leadership in day to day activities
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis to support senior management decisions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Fluency in English (C1+)
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including a minimum of 5 years supporting manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and Free Trade Zone regulations (e.g., PROCOMER, Ministerio de Hacienda).
• Knowledge of CE Mark standards, GAAP, NIC (Int'l Acctg norms), NIIF standards (Int'l Finance norms)
• Analytical and data driven
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems such as Epicor, JD Edwards, or SAP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner across functions.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Lean Accounting
• MBA, CPA, CPIM, or CIRM certification
• Experience with Workday, Adaptive Planning, and/or financial systems such as Hyperion, Cognos, or TM1
