The Team

Our Global Professional Services team is the leading provider in the Sales Performance Management space. We are a dynamic group of consultants, architects, and project managers who take pride in helping our clients get the most out of Varicent products by implementing solutions that meet their unique business and technical needs. The Opportunity

Varicent Professional Services is in search of a Solution Architect to become part of our expert team. As a specialist in our products, this position is focused on managing the technical facets throughout our implementations. The role involves active participation with customers to create scalable, supportive solutions that cater to automation, architecture, and integration requirements. This opportunity will see you simplifying procedures, establishing proven best practices, as well as crafting intuitive workflows and user interfaces for our clients.

What You'll Do

• Think outside the box to create solutions both inside and outside of the products.
• Actively work on multiple large-scale projects in parallel as a technical product expert.
• Lead architectural scoping sessions with clients, focusing on data models and integration.
• Conduct technical reviews to ensure projects are positioned for success and scalable.
• Guide customers to utilize Varicent features properly and creatively to meet their needs.
• Identify product and internal process improvements.
• Collaborate with product management and development teams to review upcoming architectural changes and third-party integrations.
• Develop front-end interfaces to streamline customer data entry, workflow, and visual presentation.
• Develop scripts using Python.
• Develop interfaces that interact with RESTful APIs.
• Optimize complex queries, reports, and processes.
• Coordinate and communicate with the customer's project manager and project resources.
• Travel to client sites domestically or internationally may be occasionally required.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in IT as an architect, developer or consultant.
• Demonstrates high levels of emotional intelligence with the ability to collaborate and work with different personality types effectively.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and prioritize parallel work streams.
• Experience with SQL Server, Postgres, or similar relational databases.
• Experience with Web Development using JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap
• Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON structures.
• Degree/diploma in Computer Science and/or related field.
• Experience in architecting technical enterprise solutions.
• Understanding of database maintenance & design for performance optimization (e.g., indexes, fragmentation)
• Understands data modeling concepts, methodologies, and processes.
• Prior experience in building relational databases.
• Skilled in analyzing and documenting business requirements and corresponding solution specifications.
• Able to work with minimal direction.
• Understanding of, and experience with, application architecture (client/server, web, database).
• Able to complete calculations & reporting and to create complex formulas, macros and sophisticated formatting in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical solutions to both IT and business personas.
• Experience with Extract, Transform & Load (ETL)

Preferred but not required:

• Experience with database development of stored procedures, triggers, and view functions.

Success Outcomes

Within 1 to 3 months, you will:

• Participate in new hire training and bootcamp.
• Orient yourself with Varicent's delivery methodology, documentation, and key deliverables.
• Complete Varicent Certification.
• Have a good overview of the market, the customers, and the user personas.
• Begin to take on smaller projects with guidance from other team members.

Within 6 months, you will

• Actively engaged in one or more projects.
• Increase familiarity with back-end Varicent architecture and integration options.
• Complete build and configuration of intermediate to advanced deliverables within a project.

Within 7 months and beyond:

• Have a solid understanding of existing technical best practices and ensure adoption on projects.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions within your immediate and broader teams.
• Establish best practices for new product functionalities.
• Prescriptively guide customers toward recommended approaches to satisfy requirements.
• Provide technical oversight on medium to large-scale implementations.
• Influence product roadmap by working with Product Management and Development teams.
