We're Hiring: Full-Time Experienced Accountant
Join our team in Tamarindo, Costa Rica We're looking for an experienced accountant to support the financial operations of two dynamic businesses.

Position Details:
- Location: On-site/WFH in Tamarindo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica
- Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week
Requirements:
- Full-time On-Site Position in Tamarindo (Posibility for some WFH days)
- University Degree in Accounting
- Enrolled in the Costa Rican College of Public Accountants (preferred)
- Minimum 4-5 years of accounting experience (preferably in related fields)
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Exactus)
- Advanced English (communication with a controller in the USA will be required)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Advanced General Accounting
- Record and monitor complex accounting transactions.
- Review and close monthly, quarterly, and annual books.
Financial Statements
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Ensure compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) as required in Costa Rica.
Tax Returns and Compliance
- File local taxes: VAT, income tax, stamps, withholdings, etc.
- Coordinate tax audits and respond to requests from the General Directorate of Taxation (DGT).
Reconciliations
- Review and reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other balances.
Support to Financial Management
- Provide financial projections, budgets, and reports for decision-making.
- Analyze variances between budgets and actual results
Payroll Management
- Calculation and processing of bi-weekly or monthly payroll.
- Application of deductions: CCSS (Costa Rican Social Security Fund), INS (National Insurance Institute), court-ordered garnishments, income tax, etc.
- Submission and payment of payroll to the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) and the National Insurance Institute (INS).
- Coordination with Human Resources to manage vacations, disabilities, absences, and new hires.
- Generation of payroll reports for management.
Relationship with Third Parties
- Communicate with banks, external auditors, government entities (such as Hacienda or CCSS), and suppliers.
