Role summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL, Python, data visualization tools, and cloud-based data platforms. This role involves leading analytical initiatives, mentoring junior analysts, and delivering actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. Experience with statistical modeling, ML model developing, and business intelligence is highly valued. This is an excellent opportunity to influence data strategy and contribute to impactful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Role expectations

  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Design and implement dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Write advanced SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Develop predictive models and conduct statistical analyses using Python.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.
  • Lead data-driven projects and mentor junior analysts.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity across systems and reports.
  • Work with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Document analytical processes and contribute to data governance initiatives.
  • Promote best practices in data analysis, visualization, and storytelling.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g., linear regression, decision trees, random forests, SVMs, neural networks).
  • Experience with ML libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or XGBoost.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools (e.g., MLflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI).
  • Experience working with unstructured data (e.g., text, images) is a plus.
  • Ability to explain model results and limitations to non-technical stakeholders.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What we're looking for

Typically:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, and ML models and algorithms.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and data warehousing solutions.
  • Experience with statistical testing and experimental design.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
