JOB OVERVIEW
Plan A Technologies is looking for a Power BI Developer to join our team and lead the creation of data-driven reporting solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex technical specifications into intuitive, high-impact visual reports that drive business decisions.
The focus of this position is the end-to-end development of Power BI solutions, from semantic model design and DAX optimization to deploying reports through Azure DevOps. We need a strong communicator who can work closely with subject matter experts to translate business goals into clear technical requirements while operating within an agile environment.
Please note: you must have at least 5+ years as a Power BI Developer with proven experience building complex reports and managing workspace environments to be considered for this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Report Development: Design and build professional Power BI reports and dashboards based on specific business requirements.
Data Modeling: Develop, maintain, and tune high-performance semantic models to ensure data accuracy and speed.
DAX Optimization: Write and optimize complex DAX queries to handle advanced calculations and business logic.
Deployment & CI/CD: Manage report lifecycles and deployments using Azure DevOps to ensure consistent delivery.
Agile Collaboration: Participate in daily stand-ups, code reviews, and sprint reviews to ensure project alignment and transparency.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to clarify requirements and provide regular status updates on blockers or progress.
EXPERIENCE
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
5+ years as a Power BI Developer with proven experience building complex reports and managing workspace environments.
Strong proficiency in DAX and a solid understanding of relational data structures.
Experience working with QA teams to validate data accuracy and support comprehensive testing.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
