We are seeking a high-impact Data Engineer IV to serve as a strategic architect and expert individual contributor for our data infrastructure. This role is designed for a technical "change agent" who can design and build robust, scalable systems that handle complex data variety and velocity. You won't just build pipelines; you will own the architectural strategy, solving performance bottlenecks and dismantling data silos to create a single source of truth across our product ecosystem. While this is an IC role, you will lead through technical vision, mentorship, and the implementation of engineering best practices that elevate the entire team's capabilities.

What You'll Do

• Architectural Strategy: Design the next generation of our data infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability across all product lines.

• Infrastructure & Pipeline Engineering: Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines and ETL processes that transform raw data into high-integrity formats for enterprise-wide analytics.

• Data Trust & Integrity: Lead initiatives to improve data quality by implementing rigorous validation, cleaning processes, and data governance policies.

• Performance Optimization: Identify and eliminate system bottlenecks by optimizing database performance (indexing, partitioning, query optimization) and ensuring high system uptime/SLA.

• Technical Mentorship: Elevate the team's output by providing guidance to junior engineers and contributing to the strategic direction of data engineering initiatives.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and internal stakeholders to integrate data solutions into applications and ensure organizational data needs are met.

What You'll Bring

• High proficiency in SQL and mastery of Python (preferred), Java, or Scala.

• Proven track record of designing and maintaining complex ETL pipelines and enterprise data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift).

• Hands-on experience with core technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, or Databricks.

• Practical experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.

• 5+ years of experience with the ability to audit current states and execute strategic "quick wins" to improve system reliability.

• A principled thinker who leads by example, setting the standard for automation, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerized data processing workloads.

• Experience with real-time data processing and stream analytics.

• Knowledge of data lineage tools to maintain transparency and traceability of data transformations.

• Familiarity with AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions for data processing tasks.

Full-time positions are scheduled to work 40 hours per week, M-F unless required otherwise by projects. Part-time positions are scheduled to work a maximum of 30 hours per week. Equipment, benefits, and perks are not provided to part-time or temporary employees.
