Job Description
Product Data Engineers are responsible for fostering an efficient and continuously improving process for intaking and maintaining CooperSurgical's operational product data across a growing global business. This includes facilitating new part entry activities driven by new product development, acquisitions, and change control; promoting engagement and gathering input and approval from cross-functional data owners; and partnering with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Commercial, and IT.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Manage the entire global new part entry process from initiation to transactional activation.
  • Support product rationalization activities.
  • Understand and execute business processes related to product master data efficiently and accurately across enterprise systems.
  • Work with data analysts and stewards to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Ensure product data compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
  • Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Commercial, and IT to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications
Experience:

  • Experience in R&D or Sustaining Engineering for medical devices preferred, or
  • Experience in Master Data/ Product Change roles preferred.
  • Previous experience with at least one ERP system (MSD365, SAP, Oracle, etc.) preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical/Biomedical/Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or related field

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of ERP system functionality, including transactional behavior.
  • Experience with medical device product development and operational processes, including quality controls, preferred.
  • Understanding of medical device regulatory compliance such as IEC 13485 and design controls (21 CFR Part 820) a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adhere to standard processes.
  • Strong English language communication skills (written and oral). Ability to author procedures, presentations and other related documents. Ability to effectively communicate to peers as well as management.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment and meet project deadlines.

Work Environment:

  • Prolonged sitting in front of a computer.
  • Ability to perform light to medium physical work and standing for long periods of time, if required depending on the task.

Travel:

  • May be required to travel up to 10% of time.
