As an Accountant II – Accounts Receivable, you will support day‑to‑day accounts receivable activities by completing routine collection tasks, updating customer account information, and assisting with the resolution of basic payment issues. This role contributes to timely cash flow by performing accurate data entry, preparing account updates, and communicating with customers regarding past‑due balances.
This position works closely with senior analysts and the team lead to ensure customer accounts are maintained accurately, issues are routed appropriately, and collection processes are executed with consistency and strong attention to detail.
What you'll do
Collection & Customer Account Management
- Conduct routine outbound calls and emails to customers with overdue invoices.
- Request payment status updates and document customer responses.
- Enter accurate notes into AR systems following standard procedures.
Account Analysis & Issue Identification
- Review customer account statements to identify missing payments, unapplied cash, or basic discrepancies.
- Follow escalation process when identifying discrepancies needing review by senior analysts, managers, or billing team
- Identify customer patterns to provide early detection of disputes
AR Processing & Administrative Task
- Perform simple AR transactions (e.g., updating notes, submitting workflow requests, sending recommendations for credit hold).
- Assist with maintaining accurate customer account files.
Reporting Assistance
- Prepare or update standard reports such as aging summaries.
- Track assigned KPIs including customer contact attempts and commitments.
- Support team leads with data entry and routine reporting tasks.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or other business-related field.
- Experience with customer collections / accounts receivable.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, credit, or customer collections roles.
- Experience working in a customer focused or service oriented environment, with regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience making outbound collection calls and managing customer communication to resolve past-due balances.
