Accounting Assistant

Location: San José, Costa Rica.
Department: Finance
Reports To: Corporate accountant and Chief Financial Officer.
Description.
The Accounting Assistant role provides, supporting key financial functions within a dynamic finance team. Responsibilities include managing client invoicing, maintaining ledgers, calculating bonuses and agreements, and reconciling revenue. The position requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a desire to learn in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting and Transactional Records:
Invoicing: Accurately record and process sales and purchase invoices in the accounting system.
Bank Records: Enter and verify all bank transactions, including deposits, transfers, and payments.
Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to document financial transactions such as accruals, depreciations, and corrections.
- Reconciliations:
Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure internal records match bank statements.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in reconciling supplier and customer accounts, ensuring proper tracking and application of payments.
- AR & AR Assistance:
Accounts Payable: Support the full cycle of accounts payable, from invoice receipt to payment.
Accounts Receivable: Collaborate on monitoring overdue invoices and applying received payments.
- Other Duties
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications.
- Proven Accounting experience for at least 1 year.
- Strong understating of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in MS Office spreadsheets
- Experience with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Online (QBO), is essential.
- Current advance students or recent graduates in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Intermediate English proficiency
