- Position name: General Ledger Sr. Team Lead
- This position will report to the Costa Rica R2R Manager. GL Team Leader (TL) overviews service delivery of countries in his/her scope - acts as point of contact in case of issues and escalation. GL Team Lead monitors issues logged and drives effective and timely resolution. The same regards monitoring of SLA’s: their achievement and driving the mitigations and remediation in case of failures. Accountable for all metrics and control charts for the team
- Responsibilities:

- Act as single point of contact and supervise day-to-day activities of SSC Lead Associates & Associates, Chief Accountants responsible for accounting activities related
- Coordinate the execution of reporting tasks in his/her team and work in an efficient manner to drive results and quality
- Coordinate the Month End Close process and preparation of reports for management review of financial reporting activities in his/her team
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated reports submitted to different executives’ levels within Zoetis
- Team Leader drives succession and backup planning and execution for Lead Associate’s & Associates / Chief Accountants.
- TL makes sure that the plans are in place and are developed (SOW’s updated, work instructions created, Associate’s trained by Lead Associate’s).
- TL plans the respective backups, helps to manage resources pooling within or between teams in order to back the service up in case of sudden absences and handovers
- Team Lead is the one supporting and supervising Associate Lead’s and reporting to R2R Sr. Manager in case of knowledge transfers (handovers)
- Ensure robust compliance environment with SOX, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures

- Understand the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of Zoetis’s financial processes and systems; ensure the existence of adequate internal controls.
- Help drive the US GAAP reporting process through to timely & accurate submission.
- Prepare and present quarterly company financial data to Controllers/Finance Directors.
- Maintain regular communication with US Market staff, including informal discussions (verbal and written communication) to different audiences.
- Lead, coach, develop and establish goals for direct reports, so they can proactively carry out their role to the highest possible standard
- Qualifications (Training, Education & Prior Experience)
- Education
- Undergraduate degree in Finance / Accounting
- Finance and accounting background supported by professional certifications (e.g. CPA, or others)
- SAP, HFM, Blackline, SmartView, Ariba, Microsoft Excel knowledge.
- Skills and Experience
- English (Oral and written B2 or higher).
- Management and supervisory experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management
- Strong accounting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, to work under pressure and to handle several projects at once
