Cost Accountant

TE Connectivity's Accounting Teams develop, implement and/or maintain one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, Cash Flows, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. They also design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.
**What your background should look like**:
The purpose of this role is to provide FP&A, costing and analytical support to US (Oregon and Minnesota) and Ireland sites.
The position will be focused on costing, variance analysis, monthly close, spend control and analysis, as well as reporting and process improvements.
- Responsibilities:
- Be a Subject Matter Expert for costing related topics.
- Support the site financially, including in areas of control environment, guide through a strong analysis the team to impact the results.
- Complete required close activities.
- Produce daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports required.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports generated through ERP systems, the accuracy of the std. costing process and evaluation of manufacturing variances.
- Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives assuring the site net productivity goals.
- Ensure strong working knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing inputs to continuously improve performance benchmarks.
- Build strong relationship with key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in different ERP’s, std. cost setting, variance analysis, FP&A (budgeting/forecasting).
- Experience with SAP and advance Excel.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing environments (preferably in electronics or medical industries).
- Advanced English (written and Oral).
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in culturally diverse teams.
- Capable of working under high pressure and high accountability.
- Supervision:
- Quality Engineers, Quality Control Supervisor, Document Control Clerk, Calibration/Incoming Inspection Technician, Quality Inspectors and Training.
Education and Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Finance / Accounting
- Key Performance Indicators:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High level of ownership and accountability
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in English
- Strong accounting background
Working environment and physical requirements:
Hybrid role.
