**About the role**

This is a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) position in the Arcsight Management center (ArcMC) engineering team. This role will be working in a part of the team developing new features deliver the power of the ArcMC end-point protection platform for Docker and other container implementations in popular container environments such as Kubernetes clusters. SDETs are key contributors in the team’s focus on quality of the ArcMC.

Here are the quality-focused tasks in the team that SDETs are heavily involved in:

- Analyze complex software features, and build effective test strategies and test design
- Build useful tools, frameworks, and test setup to use for developing tests effectively, the goal is to minimize manual testing and for the team to write automated tests for the product
- Identify and write specialized tests necessary that are not feature-specific but are still important to ensure the quality of the system as a whole - performance, scalability, limits etc.
- Debug bugs found through test or customer cases to identify root cause and use the input to improve tests
- Work collaboratively with product and release management to control risk, improve quality, and streamline our release cycles
- Rigorous product and test code reviews with an eye towards improving the security and robustness of the system as a whole SDETs use their strong software development skills to build effective tools, harnesses, and specialized tests to assure that quality.
- SDETs also participate actively in design and code reviews, and collaborate with the cloud team to assure end-to-end system functionality.

**EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Advanced English Level
- Typically 4-6 years’ experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer primarily in Automation.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in automated testing, designing automation framework from end to end.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in test automation with **java**.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in automation of **API** testing.
- Experience with GitLab and continuous integration build system such as Jenkins.
- Experience with black box and white box testing with understanding of/experience with SQA methodologies, techniques and approaches.
- Hands on experience in management tools like Octane, Jira, and similar tools.
- Good understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, JSON and REST APIs
- Should be very strong in **Selenium**.
- Expertise on Selenium with JSON integration
- Expertise on Selenium with Grid implementation (Parallel Tests)
- Experience with DevOps integration tools such as Jenkins, Github, Ant, Maven etc.
- Good experience in Reviewing requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Hands on in creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases for functional and non-functional testing
- Ability to work cross-functionally with development and product teams to organize testing responsibilities.
- Ability to work in, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes platform architecture
- Intermediate level knowledge of container constructs in the **Linux** kernel (namespaces, SELinux, etc.)
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, specifically as it relates to containers
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Self-starter able to work with mínimal supervision
