We are currently seeking a Application Management Support to join our team in Heredia, Heredia (CR-H), Costa Rica (CR).

**Position overview**

**Position's General Duties and Tasks**:

- Backups: Monitor and validate all backups steps: creation, storage, duration, etc.
- Disk Space: Validate database space, research root cause if any significant variance is observed.
- Monitor availability of servers and databases and troubleshoot if any is found down.
- Performance: Monitor and identify blocking issues, check on performance counters, check fragmentation and rebuild/reorganize indexes when needed.
- Monitor logs information, troubleshoot databases issues found, and/or escalate issues related to other teams
- Security: Identify security issues, failed logins, security breaches, policy violations, etc. Troubleshoot and escalate as needed.
- Capacity planning: Ensure sufficient space, memory, etc. is allocated for periods as 3, 6, 12 or 18 months.
- Work with other teams to make sure all the servers are in an optimal condition, this includes but is not limited to I/O Errors, Networking Errors, SAN, Backup tapes, etc.

**Qualifications**

**Must have Skills**:

- 5+ years of experience working in the information technology sector.
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Jira experience or any other experience working with tickets/request.
- Need to document everything.

**Nice to have, but not required**:

- Experience with network administration or system administration

**Education Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
