This position reports in direct line to the Public Affairs Regional Head for Central America and Caribbean and in a matrix line to the Costa Rica CCO- This person will be responsible for the institutional communications for the local franchise as a Global Public Affairs for the Country, including the external communications strategy for the Citi solution center in Costa Rica - the position will also have the responsibility of leading external communications strategy and media relations for the cluster in Central America and the Caribbean. Public Affairs Officer has the goal to strengthen the reputation of Citi in Costa Rica, protect the franchise and manage reputational risks. **Primary Roles and Responsibilities**: - The development of communications plans in support of the short-, medium - and long-term business needs of the Franchise in Costa Rica and the external Communication strategy for the Citi Solution Center. - Acting as company spokesperson in issues management and contingency matters (External and Internal stakeholders) - Responsible for developing external communication Press strategy for the CCA region. - Knowledge of media management in the CCA region - Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to manage external communication through print, video, audio, intra or internet, and web-based channels. - Continuously optimizes external communications methods and process to increase awareness and effectiveness. Filters, prioritizes and validates potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. - Executes external communications strategies within the organization. - Develops and implements communications that support the organization’s cultural and behavioral objectives. - Manages a variety of broad based and complex communications issues requiring conceptual thinking. - Oversees the development and implementation of communications (reports, memos, press releases and strategic updates on key initiatives to use during face-to-face meetings that support the organization’s cultural and behavioral objectives (e.g. Town halls and roundtables). - Consults with and advises senior leaders on key business communications. - Manages ongoing organizational education and consulting on communications. - Utilizes strong communication and diplomacy skills to build relationships with external vendors and negotiates discounts. - ** Qualifications**: - Preferred Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, English, Public Relations, International Relations, or any other related field. A working experience of the equivalent is also acceptable. 5+ years of work experience. Strong written, verbal and communications skills. - Must demonstrate exceptional communications skills both in written and verbal form - Ability to translate complicated concepts into common language. - Strong project management and consulting skills. - Ability to work in a constantly changing corporate environment, independently as well as on a team, and interact with all levels of management in a professional and positive manner. - Demonstrated track record of successful, proactive strategic communications programs that employ creativity and use a variety of communications channels (external and internal). - Experience in financial services, banking and managing Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) initiatives. - Ability to manage time efficiently, work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. - Experience in traditional and new media, including social media - Fully Bilingual - English / Spanish - **Job Family Group**: Communications and External Relations - **Job Family**: Corporate Affairs - **Time Type**: Full time - Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
