Sr IT Data Architect
**Responsibilities**:
The Sr IT Data Architect will be focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining a best-in-class infrastructure with strict availability and performance requirements. This role will work across functional boundaries to help architect scalable solutions to support service delivery. The Sr IT Data Architect must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server including high availability configurations, replication, multi-site data warehousing, summarization, maintenance, and reporting. This individual should be passionate about data management, data access and following core data management principles. They must possess strong analytical skills, be able to perform query optimization, and debug and solve any performance and load related problems quickly and efficiently.
Description:
- Develop high performance relational databases to store service delivery, transaction, and billing data.
- Collaborate with development team and Database Administrators on the design and implementation of database services, data stores, stored procedures, and replication
- Manage the design and implementation of security and data access methods to ensure services are properly controlled, monitored, and audited
- Develop and implement maintenance and administration procedures for database systems including the usage of metrics to ensure optimal performance
- Establish summarized and scalable data schema to deliver high performance historical reporting and near-real-time data feeds
- Author, document and maintain scripts to perform various aspects of data management and system administration
- Create, document, and maintain data schema and data dictionaries
- Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to scale our data infrastructure for future customer growth and new products
- Investigate performance anomalies and perform root cause analysis for database and interface.
**Qualifications**:
- Must have strong knowledge of data relationships, normalization, and summarization.
- Experience in SSIS or similar ETL tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge in data warehousing, scalability, server clustering, replication, service brokerage, and HA/DR
- In-depth knowledge of Transact-SQL and XML required while experience in C# preferred
- Proven ability to manage projects through their entire software development life cycle.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast paced growing and evolving service delivery system.
- Must be flexible and willing to support a 24 x 7 environment.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Must possess the ability to multitask and administer many systems simultaneously
- Knowledge of contact centers is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience, with strong academic record
- 10+ years of experience in database design, logical/physical data modeling/design, data security and ETL development
- 7+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- 7+ years implementing or maintaining stored procedures, views, and triggers.
