**About the role**:
DHL is hiring a Senior Accountant to join the Heredia, Costa Rica team. In this role, you will ensure timely and accurate reporting of the monthly financial statements of DHL entities in accordance with Accounting principles and corporate policies. Additional tasks and accountabilities include but are not limited to:
**Main Responsibilities**
- _Support Finance and cross functional teams in the R2R (Record to Report) functional areas._
- _Experience problem analysis, resolution and is able to identify the underlying interlinks of various elements._
- _Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues, while being able to draw conclusions and identify options for action for typical issues and make initial recommendations._
- _Define how changes in accounting standards, statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements impact the reports required and is able to effectively find solutions for exceptional requirements._
- _Identify areas of improvement in the process with First Choice culture and methodologies_
- _Has deep knowledge of finance tools and metrics to identify specific finance trends and to measure and analyze financial performance_
- _Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date._
- _Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances._
- _Produce monthly and ad hoc reports._
- _Provides financial status information by preparing special reports, completing special projects._
- _Analyze and documenting._
- _Assist with month end closing._
- _Provide supporting documentation for audits._
- _Maintain accurate historical records._
- _Maintain confidentiality of organizational information_

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- _Professional level contributor. Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and over 3 years’ experience in related field._
- _Advanced Excel_
- _Knowledge of accounts payable, general accounting procedures, relevant accounting software ( SAP)_
- _Organization and prioritizing_
- _Written and verbal communication_
- _Attention to detail, accuracy, and multitasking._
