The Senior Accountant - Consolidations will be a key member of the Controller’s Group, with encouraged contributions to the Consolidation team’s process improvement initiatives and day-to-day activities. The position will focus on crafting/adding operational efficiencies to the current processes, in part, through use of automation tools, including Power BI and Alteryx. This position will also assist in the oversight and execution of monthly consolidation/intercompany processes.
**Responsibilities**:
- Key participant in improvement initiatives through project identification, planning (scope and goals definition, responsibilities, deliverables, results measurements) and execution.
- Support process improvement initiatives with expertise using Power BI and Alteryx. Engage with team members to supervise and collect project metrics results.
- Contribute to ensuring an accurate and timely monthly close so that all financial reporting deadlines and control policies are met.
- Ensure intercompany transactions are recorded properly based on the contractual agreements.
- Assist in integration of newly acquired business on GL system.
- Reviews or prepares supporting documentation and account analyses for internal and external audits; leads audit relationships and acts as principle point of contact with respect to their areas, ensuring efficiency and timeliness.
- Proactively performs ad-hoc account analyses on a timely basis.
- Proactively identify problems and take appropriate actions to resolve issues
- Responsible for supporting financial filings and reporting deadlines.
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance/accounting and minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience
- Required experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or Alteryx. Hands-on experience in data analytics tools like SQL Server.
- Strong knowledge of a major financial system (preferably SAP & BlackLine)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with a wide range of people across different functions and levels of seniority.
- Strong organizational skills, analytic skills and attention to details.
- Strategic thinker
- High energy and driven person with ability to work independently or as part of a global team
- Self-starter who proactively seeks to improve existing controls and streamline processes both from a tactical short-term viewpoint, and from a strategic long-term perspective
