**About the Role**:
The Supplier Engineer I will support and execute deliverables associated with material/supplier qualifications for sustaining, value improvement projects and new products for BSC Heredia. This role concentrates on all aspects of supplier selection, supplier process, material changes and technical support as part of the Materials Supplier Engineering Team which is responsible for the technical leadership and resolution of non-conformances within the supply chain and achieving year-on-year material cost reduction targets.

This position is the entry level to professional engineering work. This is a developmental position working under close supervision and receiving specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected. Area of work involves processes related to qualification and assessment of supplied materials.

**Your Responsibilities Include**:

- Work with component suppliers around the globe. Review information provided by suppliers for engineering accuracy and adherence to global material standard designations, and use own technical expertise to assess if gaps in the material information provided can be filled through further discovery or analysis.
- Perform technical tasks which provide experience and familiarization with the engineering methods, practices, products and programs of the materials function. This position allows time and latitude to learn the basic business processes, and assumes that guidance from more senior engineering staff, managers and mentors will be provided to aid development.

Deliverables examples include completion of Acceptance Activities Contracts, First Article reports, eCMA forms and creation of Change Requests.
- Investigates and evaluates new and existing technologies for use in future products or improve quality/reliability of current product. Interfaces with suppliers and commodity team members to support investigation of supplied material issues or supply constraints.
- Support troubleshooting processes at supplier facility.
- Provide support to multiple projects simultaneously.
- Use statistical tools with support from senior engineering staff and demonstrates basic report writing skill.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders about the status of assigned component assessments.

**What We’re Looking For**:

- Bachelor or licenciature degree in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Industrial or equivalent experience.
- English Level desired: 85%.
- Individual must be self-driven and self-motivated to learn and use that knowledge to produce results in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Desired knowledge: Problem Solving, Process Validations, Tools (Statistics, Technical Manuals, Kaizen,Six Sigma),Process Improvement.
- Desired Experience in Medical Devices industry.
